Swanson Studios

Working with the team over at Swanson Studios is always an adventure.  In the following images I worked with Sean Reynolds to create some dynamic underwater photographs with kayaker Ross Henry.  Sean is one of the most talented photographers I have worked with here in Portland, and he always brings a creative eye to his projects.

InFocus

Always a ruckus time shooting with Keith Gerr and Patt Mosely from InFocus. Their brand was in need of imagery for all media channels, so we shot their entire product line with a new lighting standard that brought them to life. Then we did beautiful shots of key product styles for all advertising needs. The last part of this ongoing project was to build a database of lifestyle images that they would be able to use for years to come. After seeing hundreds of potential models, we cast 85 and set out to shoot various scenarios in studio for a week. It was a huge undertaking, took patience to keep all the talent organized, and on track. My favorite shot was taken when our crew flew down to San Diego and set up shop on top of a beautiful building for a night of watching hockey.

Outdoor Retailer

Going to OR is such a wonderful experience. It is not only filled with the best outdoor products, but it is also filled with some of the best, and my favorite, people on earth. I love going and supporting the companies that I have worked with, but it is also a great place to meet new clients and friends. Each year I make a small promo book of images to share. This is just one of the books that I designed.

CULTEVA

Hein Haugland is Executive Creative Director and Owner of Cultéva, a brand building company in New York.  He is also one of my favorite CD's to work with.  Hein demands only the best of his images, knows what he wants every step of the way and is pretty fn funny.  We have created some amazing images together!

KEEN

Portland was so happy when KEEN decided to move to Stumptown, they are a perfect fit here in this active outdoor community.  KEEN projects came all year long from seasonally shooting their entire product line, as well as sending a photographer to 5 different countries for their Hybrid Life campaign.  The projects were deadline driven, in need of perfect product tracking and the retouchers were creating new product changes as they came in.  We created a seamless workflow for handling this project each step of the way.

Nautilus

I've spent a lot of time amongst Nautilus machines. We had about 300+ of the machines in the studio at once. It was a sea... luckily Straub Collaborative had a loading dock and 10,000 sq feet of space all to ourselves. Each machine being shot 3x then loaded up and trucked back out. Though most shoots involved building a room set, bringing in the fittest models in the world and having a great day! I do laugh remembering one of our favorite models Tom (in top photo), it was his first time modeling for Nautilus and we were shooting various treadmill shots all day. As you can imagine it seemed like he ran a marathon that day, always complaining... with a smile on his face.

Merrell

I had the pleasure of working with Kara Fullmer from Merrell on this ongoing project. The location portion of the shoot was used for Merrell advertising and sales tools. Then we worked on creating a photography strategy for their product images that would transition all Merrell's image needs for web, catalog and advertising.

adidas

I always love working with the teams at adidas and Opolis Design here in Portland. In these images we shot all the NBA Team footwear and jerseys for use across all advertising platforms for the basketball division. The biggest challenge of these shots was the massive size of the jerseys, and that they were being printed 9 feet tall. There were major digital changes to names and numbers, and will all the small holes in the jerseys, it was a delicate task. The retouchers at Straub Collaborative were up for it and delivered beautiful images!
