Yamaha

I had the pleasure of producing the latest Yamaha Motor sports photoshoot with Bush Productions. We spent 19 days on location in Arizona shooting stills, go pro, and video at some of the most spectacular locations the state could provide. Dave Bush is an amazing photographer who gives 110% every moment of the long days. Along with the best photographer and crew, we also got to shoot with motor sports top riders.

Poached

Yesterday I had the pleasure of working with Peter Bro, owner of Portland eateries Aalto Lounge, Broder Cafe, Savoy Bistro and the latest Bar Bar. Peter is working on his new venture Poachedjobs.com, aimed at keeping the food industry employed with the best talent available. We did several shots for an upcoming promotion, and this is my favorite shot of the bunch.

Seems like in-between producing projects near and far, lately I have been asked to pick up my camera a lot.

You see, I am also a trained photographer. Going to photography school, being a photographer, producer, studio manager, artist rep, marketing manager, is kinda like being a busboy before owning a restaurant. You've been there, so you know what everyone on the team is going through.

lucy activewear

I have been periodically producing photo shoots for lucy activewear over the last 10 years. It has been interesting to see their development from an online start up retailer, to brick and mortar.

For this shoot I got to work with lucy Creative Director, Lee Ann Henrico, along with the talented photographer Sophie Pangrazzi. Sophie and I used to work together when I was with Straub Collaborative, so it was wonderful to hear her french accent as she rallied the troops. Together these ladies came together to create some inspirational imagery.

Nike

It's always fun to see new innovative designs from Nike. They asked Swanson Studios to shoot their new collection of track shoes. This was a super quick turn time, since they needed to be shipped off to athletes the next day. Thanks to the talents of photographer Tyler Ashlock and stylist Sharon Inahara, the task was completed beautifully!

Sean Reynolds

As I have mentioned before Sean Reynolds is an amazing photographer, and a delight to work with.

For these test shots we discussed shooting a track runner, but wanted to get more into the pre-event ritual. What do athletes do before the big event. Our runner needs a moment of calm before jumping to get the blood flowing.

Finlandia

Finlandia is a great client to work with, and a long time client of Swanson Studios.

You might think this is a simple shot to achieve, but there is more behind the scenes action than you can imagine. Marcus did a wonderful job meticulously lighting the bottle, directing stylist on the tangerine personality, and the delicate image retouch.

All together the simple beauty of this product shot shines through.

Swanson Studios

Working with the team over at Swanson Studios is always an adventure.  In the following images I worked with Sean Reynolds to create some dynamic underwater photographs with kayaker Ross Henry.  Sean is one of the most talented photographers I have worked with here in Portland, and he always brings a creative eye to his projects.
